DESCRIPTION: Gru (voiced by Carell) is a despicable, deplorable, all-around bad guy who holds the title of the world’s No. 1 supervillain. But when nerdy little upstart Vector (Segal) pinches the Pyramid of Giza, Gru’s status sinks to No. 2. Hoping to regain his title, Gru concocts a dastardly plan to shrink and steal the moon, with the help of his yellow minions, the elderly Dr. Nefario… and three little orphan girls.

NOTE: Based on the story by Sergio Pablos. Despicable Me is a slapstick animated comedy featuring some of the most hilarious characters ever conceived. Those who watch it are pretty much guaranteed an hour and a half of pure, unadulterated, side-splitting fun. Carell and Segal are delightful as the villainous rivals, and the animation – full of odd shapes and settings – fits the story and offers plenty of visual appeal. Plus, the script is simply loaded with awesomeness. Just watch, listen, and see for yourself.

About In Pursuit of Copiousness

“Many clever men like you have trusted to civilization. Many clever Babylonians, many clever Egyptians, many clever men at the end of Rome. Can you tell me, in a world that is flagrant with the failures of civilisation, what there is particularly immortal about yours?”
